Naturopathic Medicine
Evidence-informed, personalized, and built around the belief that your body is designed to function well — and that it can be supported to do so, proactively.
Before the crisis. Not because of it.
The conventional model of healthcare is reactive. You feel something. You report it. You receive a response to it. LYV's naturopathic approach operates in a different register — the space before the symptom becomes a diagnosis.
This is not alternative medicine. It is evidence-informed medicine that takes the time your body deserves. Lab work, detailed history, clinical testing, and a care plan that coordinates with every other LYV discipline your body needs.
Your First Visit
What your first appointment looks like.
The Extended Intake
Your first naturopathic consultation is longer than most appointments you've had. That's intentional. Your practitioner takes the time to understand your full health history, your current patterns, your goals, and what you've already tried.
Functional Testing
Where appropriate, your naturopath will recommend lab work or functional testing to build an objective picture of what's happening beneath the surface.
Your Care Protocol
Your protocol is specific to you. It may include nutritional therapy, botanical medicine, supplementation, lifestyle and stress interventions, or coordination with other LYV practitioners. It is always explained, never prescribed without understanding.
Ongoing Support
Naturopathic care at LYV is relational. Your practitioner tracks your progress, adjusts your protocol as you respond, and remains a continuous presence in your care.

Meet your Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Lena Kovač, ND
Naturopathic Doctor
Lena became a naturopathic doctor because she was frustrated — as a patient, years before she was a practitioner — with appointments that treated the number on the lab report and not the person holding it. She wanted to practice medicine differently. She has, for nine years.
Her work centers on hormonal health, gut function, and what she calls the upstream causes — the patterns of sleep, stress, and nutrition that sit beneath most of the conditions people bring to her. She uses functional testing extensively, and she takes the time to explain what the results actually mean and what she intends to do about them.
Lena works closely with LYV's physiotherapy and kinesiology practitioners — she believes that how the body moves and how it functions internally are not separate conversations.
FAQ
Frequently asked Naturopathic Medicine Questions
Yes. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) in Ontario complete a four-year graduate-level clinical program and are regulated by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. The approach at LYV is evidence-informed — meaning every recommendation is supported by clinical research, not tradition alone.
